Dr. Atkins utilizes a flexible, integrative approach to therapy and serves individuals across the lifespan. She recognizes the impact family and background have on shaping an individual. Dr. Atkins combines that knowledge with cognitive-behavioral strategies, mindfulness and other techniques to foster self-understanding, personal growth and problem-solving. She often collaborates with other providers including healthcare professionals and school personnel to provide comprehensive treatment.
Dr. Atkins also lectures and provides workshops to community groups and schools.

Dr. Atkins received her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from George Washington University in 1993 and a B.S. in Psychology from Tufts University magna cum laude in 1987. Prior to full-time provide practice, she was a consulting psychologist at the Kimberton-Waldorf School, a staff psychologist at Devereux Day School, and a seminar leader in the doctoral internship program at the Devereux Foundation.
She is a member of the American Psychological Association, Pennsylvania Psychological Association, Philadelphia Psychology Network and Specialists of Schools.
Dr. Atkins is not a participating provider on insurance panels. She will provide a receipt containing all necessary information so clients can submit to their insurance for direct reimbursement.
